Kitsune is the Japanese word for fox or fox spirit. In Japanese folklore, a kitsune can shapeshift into a human, especially a beautiful cunning woman, by placing a human skull on it's head. The more tails a kitsune has (they may have as many as nine) the older, wiser, and more magical it is.
This taxidermy kitsune fox is a lifesize full body mount with nine tails and a faux human skull with tassels on it's head, standing on an artificial rock base. The skull with tassels and extra tails are removable. The fox is removable from the base. If you'd like a different color for your fox's tassel please let us know in the NOTES section at checkout.
I make these foxes from scratch using all professional, competition quality taxidermy tools, tanning methods, materials and techniques: an anatomically correct fox mannequin, fox glass eyes, bendable wired tails, and an artificial lightweight rock base. It's all made with the intention to be able to ship, carry, and hang on the wall as easily as possible.
We do not ship internationally. Local pickup is available in Greenpoint, Brooklyn NY 11222 or Sugar Loaf, NY 10981 once the item is made. Curbside delivery and/or delivery with installation may be possible for an additional fee, depending on your location. Message us with your location for a delivery price quote.
