•We invite you to join us for a bird taxidermy class. All materials, including a skinned European Starling, hand-carved starling mannequin (which you will make in the class), glass bird eyes, etc., will be provided for each student to mount their own taxidermy starling learning the step by step hands-on process. Each student will leave class with their own completed closed-wing taxidermy starling mounted on a piece of driftwood. This class is great for beginners and all levels of experience. Students will create their own armature and learn techniques involving bird preparation, eyes and eye placement, sewing, positioning, preening, and mounting to a base.
•There is no photography, video, or audio recording allowed during class, but taking photos of your finished work and the studio is permitted when the class is over. All butterfly and moth classes are scheduled to occur on the same date as our taxidermy classes, with a half hour in-between classes, for those interested in taking both. Those who are 15 minutes or later to the class will not be able to join the class. There are no refunds for classes and no rescheduling for students who cancel, miss, or are too late to their class. There is a $50 rescheduling fee if you need to reschedule 48 hours or more before the class start time. See the “Reschedule a Class” option on our Class Sign Up page for more info. There are no exceptions to these policies. All classes are BYOB if you like. Students age 13 and up are welcome to join, however those under age 18 will need to be dropped off by a parent or guardian when arriving at the class. Parents, family members, etc who are not paid students are unable to remain in the studio during the class.
•No former experience is required. No harsh or dangerous chemicals are used. Everyone will be provided with gloves. No animals are killed for the sake of taxidermy. For questions, see our FAQ Page or Email us through the contact page. On the fence about taking a class? See our Class Reviews from previous students and our Student Work page.
