Death's Head Moth Pinning Class

 All classes are held in Greenpoint, Brooklyn at Grace and Grit Flowers, 95 Commercial Street, Brooklyn, NY 11222 

 

 •In this class, students will learn to pin and mount their own Death’s Head Moth. These moths are easily distinguishable by the human skull-shaped pattern of markings on the thorax. Class cost includes the moth, entomology spreading board, entomology pins, pinning tape, and a riker mount frame, ready to hang on the wall. Each student will leave the class with their own finished moth with frame. There is no photography, video, or audio recording allowed during class, but taking photos of your finished work and the studio is permitted at the end of the class.

 

 •Those who are 15 minutes or later to the class will not be able to join the class. There are no refunds for classes and no rescheduling for students who cancel, miss, or are too late to their class. There is a $50 rescheduling fee if you need to reschedule 48 hours or more before the class start time. See the “Reschedule a Class” option on our Class Sign Up page for more info. There are no exceptions to these policies. All classes are BYOB if you like. Students age 13 and up are welcome to join, however those under age 18 will need to be dropped off by a parent or guardian when arriving at the class. Parents, family members, etc who are not paid students are unable to remain in the studio during the class.

 

 •Please note: All butterfly and moth classes are scheduled to occur on the same date as our taxidermy classes, with a half hour in-between classes, for those interested in taking both.  No former experience is required. No harsh or dangerous chemicals are used.
